Hockey!

Landon started hockey this past week and I think it is my new favorite sport!! It was so awesome to watch him play, and it is just amazing to me how well he is doing for being on the ice less than a month. Not only does he look adorable(sorry Lan, but you do) he rocks out there. If you want to join us for a game, feel free. We would love it! Saturday at 2 at the Toyota arena! Go Hawks!!

Lacy Ann

My adorable niece Lacy after her nap today. I got to sit with her for a few hours today and we had a great time! She is so smart and so sweet! It was just what I needed after being cooped up in this house for the last week. Could she get any cuter??

2010

Well, my niece Mallory inspired me to update my blog today...It's been forever. 2010 has started off pretty ok for the Myers. Lots has happened and most of it just boring details so once again here are some highlights since I last wrote...

*Brad got married! He married Morgan Murphy in Dec. 2009. Very exciting...but even more exciting is that I am already going to be a grandma. Crazy huh!

*Tiana had her nineteenth b-day! Weird.

*It's official! All of my kids are now taller than me.

*Dave has already traveled from here to Cape Town, South Africa then to Chicago and home again. By April he will have been to London and home again and everywhere in between. He is proud of the fact he is already "Gold" Alaska/United Club member...or whatever they call it.

*I have a new niece, her name is Sunny and she is awesome!

*I am now employed. I work at Briggs Chiropractic here in town and looooooove it! It's been great getting back to work for a few hours a day outside of my house.

*My mom is home from her mission and we are having a great time! She has been really helpful with my kids, and so fun to have home again.

*Jake and Mitch are working and doing ok in school, and Landon is too! Good kids!

*Let's see...wow! I can't think of anything else.

We are all great and hope all of you are too. Once again I will try to keep this blog somewhat updated, but no promises. Let's face it. I stink at this:)

The Myers Family has been busy!!!!!! I almost forgot I even had a blog...til a friend asked me why I hadn't added her. So....here I am again. Summer was amazing and crazy and I loved it! So much to catch up on I will just give you the highlights once again.

*Spent lots of time at our cabin this summer! Loved it and I even got on the four wheelers with Dave this time and loved it!

*Went to three family weddings this summer! I am all done with weddings...until December anyway:) when one of MY children is getting married. So Crazy! I am however retired from doing any sewing for weddings...too much pressure and I end up doing a horrible job! Sorry everyone!

*Took an amazing two week vacation with six of our kids and one future daughter in-law! Went to one of my favorite places. NEW YORK CITY! We also did most of the church sites...and it was so amazing. Kids had a great time, except Zach who will probably never go to New York again! Sorry buddy...anyone who wants that story can ask him.

*Got a job! I am now employed...I love it. Just part time but it's a lot of fun and I am learning tons!

*Kids are growing up and moving out....Zach had moved out, then back home, then he moved out again! He is in his own apartment now, as well as Tiana! They are doing great and I still get to see them a lot, but I miss them a lot! Then after our vacation, Brad moved in until he gets married in Dec. Two Jrs this year and an 8th grader, which seems very weird! Just plain goes too fast!

*David is gone way too much! That's all I have to say about that, but he is great and loves his job! We just miss him!!!!!!

*Mitchell turned 16 and got his drivers license!!! He also grew like 3 inches this summer! Jake turned 17 and is awesome! Landon is 14 and has added at least two skate/bike/ski jumps to his collection. He is amazing!

*Jake and I are doing a play together...We are going to be in "MY FAIR LADY"! Its been really fun and a huge stretch for me....but of course Jake is awesome and they love him. Come see it!

*Went to "Wicked" with our son Ryan and his friend Loki! It was of course amazing and we had a great time! Thanks you two for bringing me along!

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment! I will try harder to keep this updated...not making any promises though! :)

Wow! Has it really been that long since I have blogged? Sorry but life just got crazy around here, but I didn't realize it had been that long. So much has happened! Here are a few highlights.

In the past 3 months.........

*Jake broke his neck. He is much better now and luckily no permanent damage was done...that we know of. He is still working in the training room at school, trying to improve his grades and looking for a job.

*Zach moved out! I hate it!!!! He is on his own though, and doing great. We miss him like crazy but he seems to be happy and is still on task to graduate both High School and Seminary. We are proud of him for that!! He also bought a car and works a million hours a week.

*Mitch is taking drivers ed. and driving me crazy to drive everywhere! He is a good driver and is doing awesome. He has become quite the character around here and keeps us laughing. You can still find him in front of his xbox most days, but also has been fixing bikes for us outside. He is getting really good at it and I finally have my bike back. Thanks Mitch!

*Landon has built several things and if you are curious to know what you will have to come over because I don't want to list everything....it would take all day. He never stops. Now if I could just get him to build that box I need for the back yard! Lan also became the president of the Deacons Quorum. Soooo great!

*Tiana is busy being a girl. She has been planning prom, doing hair, church stuff, senior project, doing her online classes and still helps around the house. She is AMAZING! I refuse to let her move out and go to college!(I Wish!)

*David got a new job on top of his current job and now has started traveling again....everywhere. He is now the Global Director of Training or something like that, and will be gone again. It stinks, but it's because he is an amazing teacher and we are proud of him!!! He also got hit with a potato gun and got stitches in his chin. Good story so make sure and ask him to tell you! :)

*I planted my garden and put in tons more shrubs and flowers, and have taken on several more sewing projects! Maybe too many though...we'll see.

*I turned 39 and discovered I have gray hairs.

*I also still watch my niece Lacy and LOVE IT!! Mallory and Jason also just bought a house and are moved in and seem to love it!

*Our son Brad came home with his wonderful girlfriend Morgan. They were here for Easter and while he was here found out he got into BYUI!!! It's been so awesome to see him get to where he is and we are sooooo proud of him.

*Landon discovered several new ways of scaring me with his tree climbing, rope swinging, bike jumping stunts. I'm sure one of these days I am going to have a stroke watching him.

*Ryan(Our oldest) has moved, got a new job, gone to Denver for training and seems to be doing ok. I don't hear from him too much but he's been busy with all of the above! Miss you Ry!

*Sara is still a dork(And I mean that in the most loving way possible!) :) She is finishing school working her butt off and hopefully moving to the Tri-cities if I can convince her she needs too! I am having very little luck with that but I am determined to succeed.

Well, there you have it. Not too exciting, yet if you were here would understand my new gray hairs. I love being a mom and watching my kids, it's actually really fun and scary all at the same time. It's definately not boring right now and sleep have become a luxury again in my life, but it's all good. They just grow up way too fast. I loved having most of them home at Easter time. It was fun just to watch them be together and laugh. The picture above is all the kids that were here and their bargain sunglasses from Griggs! They had to all have matching of course!

On Sunday Tiana turned "18"! I can't believe it!! When I first met Tiana she was four years old and the cutest thing I had ever seen! She was very sweet but had a little spit fire in her for sure. I love that about her to this day because she can definitely take care of herself! She has held her own with these boys, and knows how to get them right where she wants them! It's actually fun to watch...sorry boys... it is! Tiana has always been a sweetheart though. When she was four yrs old I heard her crying in the bathroom and then she came running to me just sobbing. I asked her what was the matter, thinking the boys clobbered her or something. Well, she was just so sad but was finally able to tell me that she brought in her worm that she found outside to give him a bath, and he went down the drain. We went and found another worm and of course I had to explain that worms like dirt etc...She was just wanting him to be clean. That is one of my favorite stories about her....My other favorite stories about her is when she actually ate a worm because the boys said she couldn't cuz she was a girl. She just picked it up and let it slide right down. She Rocks! Tiana is a wonderful daughter who has such a kind heart and has always been so helpful to me. It has been such a privilege to be her mother and watch her learn and grow into a young woman. Here are a few of my favorite things about Tiana!

* Her smile....she lights up the room with it and it's contagious!

* Her insane natural ability to take care of others...she does it so naturally and sometimes forgets to take care of personal needs to be there for someone else.

* Her awesome dances...every now and again she'll be dancing by herself and look like a total goof! She doesn't care, she just keeps on dancing!

* Her long arms! She can wrap them around you with the best hugs ever and also great for taking and pinning your brothers down. Don't let the skinniness fool you you...she can throw a good punch!

*The way she can find the possitive in almost every bad situation!

* She is a huge help and can and will step in whenever I need her and doesn't ever complain!

* She is an amazing bargain shopper and knows how to find good deals.

*Her love for kids and how she is a natural with them. She really truly loves them and will make an amazing mother some day!

Tiana is just an overall great daughter and we are very proud of her!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIANA & WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

A Rare Event!

We don't get to see this too often anymore. It didn't last long but we got to hear both of them play!! They were awesome! It's even better when they play together but unfortunately Brad didn't bring his horn this time. Oh well it was just good to hear them play.

My Family

Everyone made it home safe yesterday! We had a wonderful day just hanging out at the house, eating way too much food and watching old home videos. We exchanged gifts and for the first time ever....we didn't even start opening them until about 10am. I think I like that!:) Everyone was happy, which was a huge blessing for me to see this and to have everyone together. I felt like we got to experience the joy and truth of the phrase "time heals all wounds" and a good reminder of what is truly important. I hope we get to have more of these days in the future but until then I have some awesome pictures and memories to remind me. Thanks kids for being here and being so good to one another, and for a wonderful Christmas Day!

Happy Birthday Mary!

This is my sister Mary & a pic of my mother, me(the cute one) and Mary(the even cuter one)!Today is her birthday! I of course didn't get her gifts done yet so this is her back up gift! I am pretty sure she'll hate it....oh well. :) Here are a few things I know about Mary...

Some of her most favorite things-Jacksen, Taryn & Kylie! Tony too! Peanut Butter, McDs, , the color black, pina coladas(virgin of course) by the pool in Hawaii, reading, scrap booking, being an aunt to my awesome kids :)....

Some of her least favorite things- mayonnaise, fish, the words "fluffer nutter", country music, not being with her kids, my blog about her and being an aunt to my awesome kids... jk

Here are my families favorite things about her!

David - One day, I will figure out a way to be more like Mary. She has one of those rare talents to make you smile and laugh - even when you really don't wanna. The "result" is that she makes you know you are loved. Loved the way you need to at that minute - she just knows how to read you in the simplest, yet most complex way you need. Quite simply - anyone who knows Mary, knows that humor is part of the fun of knowing her, but the benefit of knowing her is how you feel after you talk to her. I know I am not alone because anyone who's met her, senses the same thing. If there is a favorite thing about Mary it's what a wonderful friend she is to Karen. Husbands can't fill in all the spaces a woman needs, but Mary fills that for Kari. When they are together, you see something that can only exist in devoted sisters - friends-to-the-end. For me, I might have gotten to have Mary as a sister-in-law by chance, but she is a rare friend by choice. Happy Birthday Sista - Love ya, D

Zach- Everything! Not even kidding.

Tiana-She is a great role model for me! She is Funny! She is such a good mom.

Jake- I loves going to her house and how she makes you feel welcome and loved. She's the best!

Mitchell-She is just fun to be around...Hey Mary! I love the things you dooooo......

Landon-She's just awesome.

Well, the kids love everything about Mary. They couldn't really say just one thing they love about her. She always has Otter pops....She always listens.....She makes me laugh....she loves me....She is so unselfish.....She awesome....shes awesome.....shes awesome! They love her and I love that she loves them too. Like the kids it's hard to just find one thing I love about her and David said it better than I ever could... So I will just say that I love her and am so fortunate and grateful to have her for a sister. She is my best friend and one of my most favorite people in the whole world! Happy Birthday Mary! We Love You!

Fun in the Snow!

Funny thing happened tonight! The kids were stir crazy and wanted to go out and build a snowman or something, and even though we usually don't do this on Sunday I gave in. It was either that or drive me crazy and lets face it...I'm crazy enough. Anyway, Jake came running in the house all excited about this jump they built and wanted me to see how cool it was and how they built it. I jokingly said "OK but it better not be one of your brothers under there!" Well, it was cool alright! In the next pic you'll see what this most amazing jump was! Do I know my kids or what?
Yes! It's Mitchell! Amazing the things these boys will do for fun...that's all I have to say about that. :) P.S.-He voluteered for this believe it or not...go figure!

Merry Christmas!

These leaves are now covered in over a foot of snow today....or more! Hard to believe it is another Christmas. It has been a rough year for our family and yet we feel very grateful for all the struggles. We seem to be coming out a little stronger, a little bit more loving and have a new appreciation for family. This year we will have all of our kids here for Christmas ...Ryan flies in on Christmas Day, Sara and Brad get here on Tuesday. This will be the first time in a long time everyone will be together. Karen says that this is her gift! Like a lot of folks we know, this is a frugal holiday so we've been busy making most of the things we have been giving this year. Lots of candy, crafty cards, ornaments and short notes to say hello. Maybe the best part of Christmas this year has been spending time with each other and not so much about presents. We hope it will be that way for you too. From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas!

This years Gingerbread House!

For the last couple of years I have been making gingerbread houses. Last year the kids told me it looked like a church...and it did. It was my first year doing the stained glass windows and it was definitely a church...This year it's not. We did lots more windows and the kids all helped decorate and I think it's adorable! It's a lot bigger than I thought and Jake was disappointed it didn't have a garage, but there is always next year!

Fun Coincidence!

So weird! This was in the Tri-City Herald today. Jake called from school and told me about it and I thought he was mistaking...then he brought it to me after school. Kinda fun! I had no idea he ever taught in Tri-Cities. Very Cool!!!

My Christmas tree is finally decorated!

Well, we put up our tree last week but I have been putting off decorating because, I am the only one who decorates the tree any more. It's of course a lot of work and I just didn't want to do it. Yesterday I forced myself and here is the end result! What do you think?
