Homecoming!

Last weekend we hosted the kids for the Homecoming dance! It was a lot of fun and lots of work...all day Saturday we got ready but the kids were wonderful about helping so it was pretty painless. Tiana ran most of our errands while Jake helped set up at home. Thanks to Lan and Mitchell, and Zach who helped tons even though they didn't get to enjoy any of it themselves...You Rock!(Zach went to Homecoming in Richland with his girlfriend Lexi) Looks pretty good huh! The kids also looked amazing and were even great about taking a picture with mom. Thanks guys!

Off they go!

The kids all met at the Greenstreets around 5 to get their pics taken. Brenda took some great pictures and hopefully we can share a few of them with everyone, and I am sure Brenda will post some of them on her blog too. Anyway, then at about 6pm they headed to our house where the Limo showed up to take the kids on a drive while we got there dinner ready. I was very impressed with the boys...They were quite the gentlemen. Ladies First! Except anyone see Jake? Hmmmm.....

Limo Ride!

Being crazy with that Sparkling cider!...For those of you who might have been worried. The kids had a great time as you can see and said this was more fun for everyone than the dance.

Here is everyone at our beautiful table. Right to left is Josh, McKay, Tiana, Brad, Ryan, Whitney, Jake and Marissa! They were all great and we loved having them. Also, thanks to all the other parents especially the Greenstreets(Our chefs!) for coming over and helping out!

Dinner

Off to the dance!

Halloween is coming in a month, and Mitch who is a huge Batman fan wants to be the Joker for Halloween. Well, he didn't want a cheesy costume and since purple suits are seriously hard to come by... I decided to make him one. It is not finished but I am proud to say it is looking pretty good...surprisingly! I haven't sewn in awhile and have never made a jacket before so I even surprised myself. It looks even better on him and the most important part is that he loves it!!! Stay tuned and hopefully I will get some good pics of the finished product!

Germfest at the Myers!

Ok I have had it! For anyone wanting to visit us in the next few days... I would seriously reconsider. Anyone who is a parent knows that when one kid gets sick they all get sick. Usually. It can turn into a vicious circle of Yuk! Well, my house is in the middle of it and it seems there is no stopping it, no amount of bleach or vitamin C that will kill this one. So far everyone but Mitch has been affected by this virus and it seems it is making a second round just because. Zach has gotten the worst of it... and honestly I have never seen anyone throw up that much! Poor kid. I say poor kid because I do feel bad for him. I admit however that I am ready for everyone to stop being sick and just be over it. I want to be done with it already!! Done with the extra gross bathrooms, endless washing of sheets and towels and sick of bleaching the tar out of everything in hopes it will help. Does it really help? I seriously have my doubts but it makes me feel better! Anyway, I hope we haven't spred our sickness to others and if we did...So Sorry!!!

I am so excited about this book I had to share! If you haven't read this you should. Mary gave it to me and has talked about it a lot. She loves Rabbi Shmuley! In the doctors office this morning, waiting to find out that Zach still has an ear infection and tonsilitis...Yuk!, I started to read it. I totally finished it. It is small so that's not surprising, but what I did find it surprising is that I really love this parenting book. I usually feel crappy and overwhelmed when I read parenting books, but Rabbi Shmuley is brilliant. It's full of great stories, examples, and thoughts. I love it...it's my new favorite! Read it...you'll love it!!!

This is Lacy Ann Self the daughter of my niece Mallory & her husband Jason. Her little family just moved home from New Mexico and we are soooo excited! Lacy is adorable and the kids are loving having her around... especially the boys. Go figure! She loves Zach but can't figure out what all that hair is about. Me either Lacy!

Today Jake
got dressed in his finest Nacho costume and at Dairy Queen asked Marissa to Homecoming. It was awesome and of course she said yes!
